Finally completed the mystery sketch for LCOM! I really liked how this turned out!!! I didn't scrap my normal way, I used a lot of glitter, more ink that I would like to admit, and just went on a blitz with it!! Thanks for looking!
Just had to share these couple of pics!!! Lauren is 8 months old day!!! I want time to slow down. She's growing sooo fast, and it's sooo amazing to watch her learn and play and do incredible things everyday! It was snowing quite a bit, so mommy and baby went out to play, sled and all! Can't wait to scrapbook these pics!
Well, kind of. I figured that since it has been snowing, and there is snow on the ground, maybe I should put a wintery bckgrnd on my blog...and well, there ya go! Also, here's a picture of the lovely white stuff!
I think today might finally be the day that I get started on my December Daily album. A lot of the girls from LCOM have attempted this, or are doing it, or have just mentioned it. If you click here, then you can find the details on Ali Edward's site. We moved into our new place thanks to a wonderful friend, and now I have a scrappy room!! Since we moved in, it's been full of boxes and things that dont really belong, so last night, I tidied it up a bit. Today, it's almost decent enough to get some things on the go! Now, off to find that chipboard!
The sketch team at Lets Capture our Memories is planning a mystery sketch for the week of November 29th to December 3rd. We want you to join us and get in on the fun. On Monday, Nov 29th, we will post the first part of a sketch, then on Tuesday the 30th, we'll add the second part, and it will continue until Friday. And just to make it more interesting, you can't view step #2 until you've completed step #1, and so on. We will let you know what type of picture you need (landscape or portrait) and how many so that you can have them ready in advance. And you could maybe have some papers all lined up and ready to go too!!
This challenge we had to create a fall-themed layout, using non traditional colours. I really had nothing in my stash, and used a blue leaf, stamped "thankful" and there are blue leaves around the picture border. The challenge for this one, was to use a colour in your title. And an even bigger challenge would be to use the same colour letters as that word. I really enjoyed this layout.
This challenge was to use 3 leaves and use fall colours. well, there are indeed leaves everywhere, but mainly-2 on the wedding invitation, and the word "leaves" on the invitation....I'm happy that I finally got to scrap my wedding invitation...and yes, my dh and I made them.
This layout challenge was interesting...we had to use our "Kraft" papers. I do not own any, so I had this paper by Scenic Route. I love how it turned out!
I really think I have surpassed my yearly layout limit lol, but there are more challenges, and I am trying my hardest to get them done. It sure puts a small dent in my scrappy stash. TFL
So, the title page, is actually " Love My Dad" and it works it's way up this blog...dont know how I accidentally posted it backwards.
When I scrapbook, I hate working with pp's, and embellishments..I can never figure out how to use them to their potential...and this was so not my scrappy style...but I love what came of it. Sorry for the bad lighting...I am really busy and just do not have time right not to adjust the lighting.
I know this posting is late, but my husband John and myself would like to welcome to this world our precious daughter...Lauren Cecilia Rose. She was born on March 26th, and weighed in at 6lbs 8oz, she was a whopping 20 1/2 inches long. She has light brown hair and blue/grey eyes. She is our first child, and our pride and joy.
The countdown is nearly done...I hope :) So, here is that photo that I have been witholding. Baby has still *as far as I know* not dropped. I do not like personal pictures...so, if it looks like a fake smile, that's because it is :) <---that one was not.
The theme we chose to go with for the baby's room is natural/woodland animals. My husband and I decorated the room together. The main battle was finding curtains that we like that would also match the decor, they were a last minute buy.
This is the wall decal just above baby's crib. We picked it up at Winners for a mere $9.00
A view of baby's closet. Rather than getting a dresser, for the time being we picked up an organizer from Walmart and it seems to be working out just fine for baby's clothes.
This is the wall opposite baby's crib. We seen the circle idea on several other websites and thought it would be an inexpensive way to decorate neutrally. We bought minimal fabric, and picked up wooden embroidery circles at the local craft store. It was sooo easy to do. The "BABY" picture we picked up at Winners for 15.00.
Our stroller and rocking chair.
The blanket on the rocking chair says "my little Newfie blanket".
The curtains we managed to find at the Sears Bargain Basement, and including the rod...cost 45.00. The little blue bouncer seat was a gift from the LCOM girls :)
A view of the crib.
It's a better view of the decal :)
The main area :) Everything that I will need is easily accessible from this shelf. It was free as we brought it with us when we moved :) We decided not to get a change table, because of advice from several different people around.
My husband decided that he wanted to take me down to the South Shore. We visited a few towns around that area. I was just astounded with the beauty, it was just absolutely gorgeous! We also stopped by Peggy's Cove on the way back to HRM. It is beautiful...but NEVER again will I walk that close to the ocean in the winter....the windchill was crazy!!! I did do it though :) If I go there again, it will be in the summer, when the warm winds are blowing across the waters...not the cold winds. On our way back, there was a baby deer that darted across the street in front of us. Luckily, my husband seen it in time! It was soooo cute.
